Kentucky Horse Park’s Southern Lights
Friday December 12, 2014

Come spend an enjoyable afternoon discovering some of Lexington’s holiday
traditions.  We will start our day off visiting Old Kentucky Chocolates. Home of Old
Kentucky Bourbon Chocolates, Old Kentucky Derby Mints, Chocolate
Thoroughbreds, and The Colonel's favorite (Old Fashion Pulled Creams).   Next we
visit the Alltech Brewery & Distilling Company. Then it is off to dinner at the Golden
Coral.  After dinner we are off to the Kentucky Horse Park.  We will start off with a
driving tour of the lights where 82 Horse Mania entries will be on display. We will
then leave our motor coach and begin the Southern Lights Indoor Section – first
stop, the petting zoo of exotic animals in the big tent in the main parking lot. Next is
the lobby inside the Visitor Information Center which is decorated in holiday
splendor. The Kentucky Horse Park Gift Shop is full of special holiday gifts, both
equine-related and non-equine items. Shoppers can also shop for items made by
Kentucky crafters including: jewelry, dolls, ceramics, hats, paintings, candles, floral
arrangements and more. Take the “Mini-Train Express” and travel in style to the
Visitor Information Center and the Museum. This appealing train with great
personality welcomes young and old alike!  Also enjoy the International Museum of
the Horse and special exhibits including the Bluegrass Railroad Club’s model train
display and visits with Santa Claus. Photos with Santa are $5, which is a donation to
the Lexington Rotary Club’s winter coat program. Photos are not required to visit
with Santa.  The trip will depart from Brown County Fairgrounds at 12:00pm.  The
price includes deluxe motor coach transportation, admission to the Kentucky Horse
Park, admission to Alltech, and dinner at Golden Coral

Liberty, Time Square, Central Park, the Top of the Rock and Liberty Park. We will also be touring Intrepid Sea, Air and
Space Museum, Twin Lights Historical Site and Met Life Stadium. We will have a guided walking tour of Ground Zero, Wall
Street/Lower Manhattan & 911 Memorial (Salute the past and the future on this 3-hour guided tour! Visit the single most
historic area in the United States. Pay tribute to this great nation as you learn the rich and exciting history of NYC and
America. Tour the former World Trade Center Twin Towers (Ground Zero), the 16-acre site of unparalleled heroism. This
moving and educational tour takes you through lower Manhattan where you will also see such icons as Wall Street, the
Woolworth Building, and a virtual skyscraper). We will be having free time in Time Square (day/night), guided driving  
4-Hour Midtown/Uptown Tour (our group will see Rockefeller Center and the Empire State Building, Times Square and the
Theater District as well as Harlem, Central Park, Lincoln Center, Dakota Apartments and Museum Mile. This tour will include
several stops and may vary based on traffic, weather, etc.), and we will be going to a Broadway Show (ie. Momma Mia,
Phantom of the Opera, or similar type show). Some of the meals include Puglia (Italian), Hard Rock Café, and Inlet Café.
Breakfast are all included at the Hotel. You will enjoy free time in China Town, Little Italy, and Time Square; to enjoy your
shopping experience.  This trip includes 4 breakfast, 1 Lunch and 2 dinners.

Veterans, Family & Friends Washington DC

Come join us on a five nights/ six day journey to our Nation’s Capital.  We will travel in style on a deluxe motor coach from
Georgetown, OH to Holiday Inn Alexander Old Town, VA.  While in the Washington area, we will visit the September 11th
Memorial at the Pentagon, the Air Force Memorial, the US Navy National Museum, Ford’s Theatre, Jefferson Memorial,
Franklin D Roosevelt Memorial and the Capitol.  We will also be touring the National Cathedral and Mt Vernon Estate.  With
day and night tours of the Vietnam Wall, Lincoln Memorial, Korean War Memorial and the World War II Memorial. We will
also take in a performance of the Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon and the music of "The Commandant's Own", The
United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps and “The Presidents own” Marine Corps Band at the Oldest Marine Corps
base in the country.  No trip would be complete without a tour of Arlington National Cemetery.  We will use the tram service
with 3 stops at the following: John F Kennedy’s grave site, the amphitheater to see the changing of the guard, and then to
Arlington House.  You will also get free time to explore the Mall area to take in the Smithsonian or other Museums in the
area.   Some of our meals will be at the following:  Hard Rock Café, Buca de Beppo, Mt. Vernon Inn, Union Station.  On our
last day we will travel to Charlottesville, VA where we tour Monticello, the home of Thomas Jefferson. The trip departs from
the Brown County Fairgrounds.
